Typically SCADA systems are divided into two levels, the client/server architecture. The server communicates with hardware devices for data processing and computing. The client is used for human-computer interaction, such as text, animation to display the status of the site, and can be operated on-site switches, valves. There is also a "super-remote client", which can be published on the Internet through the Web for monitoring. Hardware devices (e.g. PLC) can be connected to the server in point-to-point or bus mode. The point-to-point connection is usually through a serial port (RS232), and the bus method can be RS485, Ethernet and other connection methods.
